Charging points for electric cars, commonly known as charging stations, are infrastructures designed to supply electric power to electric cars to recharge their batteries. These charging points are analogous to traditional service stations for internal combustion vehicles and play a crucial role in developing and adopting electric vehicles.
Charging stations can be of different types, with varying charging capacities and access modes.
Home Charging Points: These are charging points installed in the user’s home, usually connected to the domestic electricity grid. They typically provide less charging power than other types of charging stations.
Public charging points: These are charging points located in places accessible to the public, such as car parks, shopping centres, service stations, restaurants, hotels, etc. They can provide different charging capacities.
Mobile Charging Points: These are actual mobile fast-charging units installed on special vans, which the user can use after booking from a dedicated app, wherever his vehicle is located.
